A big white blob taking over a green pea sized ball.
The big blob is a white blood cell called a microphage. The microphage is digesting the green ball which is a foreign invader.
A big purple ball with pink crown shaped pieces. The pieces try to attach to the green crown shapes on the white blob.
The purple ball is called a helper T cell. The helper T cell encounters the microphage with the same receptors and together they bind to the foreign invader.
A pink and a blue ball attaching with two pink stems which are coming off the balls.
The blue ball which is an activated T cell attaches to the pink ball which is an inactivated B cell. The T cell releases chemicals that reactivate the B cell which will then start a rapid reproduction.

Hi Aloe,
ReplyDeleteGreat detail. What is the B-cell making, again?
